The Magnesium stearate, is a white creamy powder insoluble in water, benzene and turpentine. made of the reaction of a fatty acid and a magnesium salt.
It is widely used as a solvent in the manufacture of tablets, capsules and powders. It is useful because it has lubricating properties, preventing ingredients from sticking to manufacturing equipment during compression of powders.
