Strontium carbonate


Strontium carbonate is a white, odorless, tasteless. When a carbonate is a weak base and is therefore acidic reagent. It is practically insoluble in water.


  • Used in the glaze and glazed ceramic dishes.
  • It is used in fireworks.
  • Used in obtaining high purity zinc (SHG zinc).
  • Is also used in the manufacture of strontium chromate.
  • TV tubes and computer monitors (CRTs).
