Strontium carbonate is a white, odorless, tasteless. When a carbonate is a weak base and is therefore acidic reagent. It is practically insoluble in water.
- Used in the glaze and glazed ceramic dishes.
- It is used in fireworks.
- Used in obtaining high purity zinc (SHG zinc).
- Is also used in the manufacture of strontium chromate.
- TV tubes and computer monitors (CRTs).
